Who edits and under which rules
Galley Pay is an independent editorial desk that publishes notes on published research about secondary earnings, platform-mediated work and how household instruments compose those flows into income accounts. It is not a personalized advice outlet and not a placement service.
How topics are chosen
The agenda prioritizes public documents with an explicit method: statistical agency supplements, papers that use survey or administrative data, and measurement guidelines from research institutions. Pieces that frame outcomes, that rest only on anecdote, or that cannot be verified against a named source are set aside.
A topic enters the desk when it supplies a measurable definition—what counts as secondary earnings or platform work, which unit is observed, which period is covered—and when that definition can be contrasted with at least one documented methodological limit.
How sources are cited
Notes name authors, institutions and, when available, the title of the report or article. Figures are attributed in the same paragraph where they appear. When sources disagree, the disagreement is recorded instead of selecting a single preferred number.
Statistics are not invented. If a datum is absent from the cited source, it is not published. Paraphrase does not replace attribution.
Corrections
Factual or attribution errors are corrected on the relevant page when a public source supports the change. Material corrections may be noted briefly on the page. Requests go to the contact email with the URL and the supporting document.
Advertising
If third-party advertising appears, it is labeled as advertising and kept separate from editorial sheets. Sponsors do not select findings or rewrite method critique.
What this desk does not do
